George Washington - cut again.

washington gamble continues

The ante post gamble on George Washington to win Saturday's Breeders Cup Classic continued to gather pace on Thursday with Coral forced to cut his odds to 8-1 from 9-1, having cut him yesterday from 10-1 into 9-1.

"The gamble on George Washington continues to gather pace and he is proving easily the most popular bet at this year's Breeders Cup", said Simon Clare, Coral Spokesman.

Aidan O'Brien this morning gave an upbeat bulletin regarding George Washington's preparation for the Classic and was extremely hopeful that the horse could stay the ten furlong trip and act on the dirt surface.

"As a bookmaker we have to be happy to lay a horse that is running in the toughest horse race in the world and who is unproven over both the surface and the trip. However, if he wins it will cost us hundreds of thousands of pounds", added Clare.
