Hurricane Run - made favourite.

european pair new favourites

Araafa and Hurricane Run have become the new favourites for the Breeders' Cup Mile and Turf with Stan James following their work on the turf course at Churchill Downs on Thursday morning.

The Wantage-based firm cut Araafa to 11-4 from 7-2 while pushing out Aragorn to 4 from 3, while Hurricane Run came into 3-1 from 7-2 as English Channel slid out to 7-2 from 3.

Neil Morrice, the firm's media and on-course representative, said: "Jeremy Noseda believes Araafa has the best possible slot at three in the Mile and John Velazquez was delighted with the colt's work today. Araafa looks like a fresh horse and is likely to have the race run to suit.

"Michael Tabor intimated that Scorpion would make the pace in the Turf as you might expect from a St Leger winner reverting to a mile and a half. That itself will help Hurricane Run who needs a strong gallop, while yesterday's rain was also a boon to the colt."
