Araafa - joint favourite now with Hill's.

all change for mile

There were price changes aplenty for the ultra-competitive Mile race on Wednesday with both Jeremy Noseda's Araafa and Godolphin's Echo Of Light shortening after drawing gates three and six respectively.

Both avoided the rail and the outside on the tight inner turf track and Araafa is now 7/2 from 4/1 with Stan James and challenging Aragorn (3/1) for favouritism.

Hill's now make both horses a 7/2 chance, Aragorn having drifted from 3/1 and Araafa having been cut from 4s.

Coral moved Echo Of Light in from 10/1 to 7s, with Stan James trimming their price by a point to 8s.

Neil Morrice, Stan James' on-course representative, said: "For a horse who likes to race on the pace the three box was just the ticket for Araafa who should be able to obtain a handy position from the start. Quite a number of Breeders' Cup Miles are won by a horse who counters from a handy position off the turn."

Echo Of Light fared much better than stablemate Librettist who has drifted out to 16/1 from 12s with Stan James after drawing stall 13. It was a similar story for Aidan O'Brien's Aussie Rules who is out to 20s from 14s after getting the outside berth (14) .
